Selena Gomez does her best to spread a little more love in the world by sharing the touching Instagram message she sent to one fan on Instagram.
“I know I meant lives. I don’t care about grammar. I’m sorry I had to share. Every life is worth it,” the “I Want You To Know” singer captioned the screengrab.
Posted on Thursday, she wrote:
“By me following you is not me saying it’s ok[sic] to think these thoughts. It’s not me saying, ‘hey you said sad things, so I’m going to follow you to make you feel better.’ God puts us in situations that are so unexplainably difficult for a reason. There is someone in the world feeling so much, just like you. There is someone who will always have it better or have it way worse than you.
The point of all of that is for to feel not alone. My point is, you are not alone in this world. People everyday feel so many emotions they wish they could turn it off. But that’s not why we are here. We are here for for relationships, for people just like us who feel worthless. Your purpose is to share, help, encourage. Remember that. Please. Before you think of taking your life, think of all the life’s[sic] you could save. I love you. More importantly there is a God that will love [you] more than I ever could.”
While she didn’t share the message or the user she was responding to, Selena appears to be talking to a fan who has expressed suicidal thoughts. Selena’s powerful words are a reminder that we don’t always have to feel alone in the world and there are other people we can talk to about our feelings.
It’s also always nice to see her share her power message with the rest of her fanbase, some of whom might have needed her gentle reminder. While she definitely can’t send a personal message to everyone, we’re sure that Selena has touched many people with her kind words.
